Skin Care: Unused Products

I have to separate my skin products because there's just way too many of them. Let's start with my unopened products... How did I end up with so many products? It's definitely a combination of retail therapy, sales and coupons, and just liking a product a little too much...

The Tea Tree Face Mask from The Body Shop is probably the oldest unopened product I currently have in my room, only because I bought three of them when there was a sale and I still had a Love Your Body Rewards Card and got 10% off my purchase.

I was introduced to Alba Botanica's Acne Dote line after my brother bought some and raved about it. After trying his bottle, I had to get some of my own. So I did, and I liked it so much that I got a backup at Walmart. Here it is, still unused.

My face washing routine is great, but my moisturizing is terrible.  When I got a facial over the summer, the esthetician basically scolded me for not moisturizing. She recommended the oil control lotion from Alba Botanica so I decided to try it out.  I fell in love. I found a really good deal on Amazon for the Acne Dote lotions so I bought three backups for the one I am currently using... good thing they expire in 2017...

Alba Botanica also has other lines, like Hawaiian (with pineapple enzymes and coconut milk) and Good & Clean, which is what I picked up at CVS when I had a "Save $5 off of $25" coupon. Those things really get to me... I haven't used any of them yet, but I'm really excited to!

I also had a CVS coupon for skin care items so, naturally, I had to use them. I've always wanted to try out the Yes To products, and I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to get them if I could get them at a cheaper price. I already have an opened and used version of the Yes To Tomatoes cleanser and moisturizer, but something in my mind made me buy backups... so tada! I have four Yes To products waiting to be used...

Now let's talk about the Soap & Glory cleansers. I also am in love with these cleansers and the cooling feeling it gives your face afterwards. These are only 1 oz tubes, so they are perfect for traveling. I believe they were $3 each when I got them from Sephora, and they were out of the large version.

I also picked up the smaller version of Sephora's Instant Moisturizer because of the good reviews, but I have yet to try it out. One day...

The next item was actually part of a gift set I got for my birthday. I believe it was the Sephora Favorites Skin Cleanse Vol. 2 and I loved every part of this. I had actually tried this cleanser before, so I've been reluctant to use this one because I love it so much...

Four of the items below also came in the Skin Cleanse kit, and I also acquired an extra of the Gel Exfoliant and Sheer Transformation moisturizer.

Sephora also had a promo code for Clinque Acne Solutions for a while. I believe you could get it for free along with a $25 purchase, and I just think it is too little and cute to use. But of course, if I'm trying not to shop and use up all my products instead, then I will have to use this eventually... but not yet!

I had heard nothing but good things about this DERMAdoctor and I wanted to try out their KP Duty products, since I have KP on my upper arms, but didn't want to spend the $46 on just one. At the end of the past summer, Ulta had a sale for DERMAdoctor products. I believe everything was 50% off, which was an extremely good deal because I was able to get two for the price of one!

The good thing about lots of online shopping at places like Sephora and Ulta is that you can accumulate many samples... On the left are moisturizer samples and on the right are various anti-aging and skin brightening serums.

Here are my eye care samples from CVS, Ulta, and Sephora. Nuance and Vichy are brands that are sold at CVS, but they may be found in other places as well.

Recently, for Christmas this year, my brother got me a Burt's Bees gift set with some cleansers and facial wipes. I haven't used these yet and they even come with a little seal, but I know from prior usage that the deep pore scrub is very good, but the little scrubbing particles can be too abrasive on the skin.

Also for Christmas, my friend got me the Philosophy Glowing Days Ahead as well as the Clear Improvements Active Charcoal Mask from Origins! I've always wanted to try Purity and the Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash but didn't want to splurge on them, so I am VERY happy I got these for Christmas!

Last but not least, I recently splurged on Dr. Hauschka. I was given the Your At Home Spa Facial Kit as a gift for Christmas and I used it all up and was sad. So naturally, I bought myself some more. There was a holiday sale on the Dr. Hauschka website so I bought myself four kits (two of each) as well as some full sized products that I've already used, and it was definitely an expensive purchase... I'm definitely going to make these last.

This kit comes with the Clarifying Steam Bath, Clarifying Clay Mask, Revitalizing Mask, as well as a porcelain bowl and brush. The contents are a bit small for what you pay for, so you are mostly paying for the packaging.

A lot of the products in this kit are also in the other kit as well. In addition to the products from the Your At Home Spa Facial Kit, you also get the Cleansing Cream, Clarifying Toner, Clarifying Day Oil, and the Melissa Day Cream. I haven't tried these new ones yet, but I'm excited to!

If you spend a certain amount, you get either three or six sachets, as they are called. The samples include the Regenerating Eye Cream, Firming Mask, Hydrating Foot Cream, Regenerating Body Cream, Almond Soothing Body Cream, Regenerating Neck and Décolleté Cream, and a Sage Purifying Bath Essence.

And I believe that is all for unused skin care products...
